About The Customer
PMC Hydraulics Group is a leading provider of innovative hydraulic systems and components in the Nordics. The company serves the industrial, energy, mobile, and marine sectors. With operations in the Nordics, Baltic countries, Poland, China, and India, PMC Hydraulics offers world-leading solutions for high-end systems and a full line of hydraulic components from top manufacturers. The company's strategic decision to move from a country-specific ERP setup to a more unified group-wide ERP solution was a significant step towards harmonizing its operating model and using ERP features consistently throughout its operations.
The Challenge
PMC Hydraulics Group was faced with the challenge of updating its outdated Microsoft Dynamics AX R2 environment, which was nearing the end of its lifecycle. The situation was further complicated by Microsoft's decision to end updates for on-premises AX R2 Dynamics solutions by October 2021. PMC Hydraulics Group also needed to harmonize its numerous business-critical processes and unify its operation model across its operating countries. The company was seeking a more efficient and cost-effective ERP solution that would allow for future-proof development, support, and simplified maintenance.
The Solution
PMC Hydraulics Group partnered with Tietoevry, a multinational expert team, to transition from an on-premises ERP to a cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O ERP. The project was delivered as a turnkey solution, with minimal changes and disruption to ongoing business operations. The cloud-based ERP solution supports full ERP functionality, covering production, warehousing, logistics, sales, purchasing, and financial operations. The cloud-based ERP also enabled the unification of business-critical processes across multi-country operations. The cloud version of D365 is upgraded several times a year, ensuring that the ERP is always up to date with the latest features. Automated testing further streamlined operations.
