Worldline, a global financial services company, needed to create a merchant-facing, self-service environment that could handle millions of daily transactions for hundreds of banks and thousands of merchants. The company wanted to empower its community with self-service analytic tools that would allow them to create statistics, summarize transactions, and analyze merchant activity with little or no help from IT. The company's activities are organized around three main areas: merchant services and terminals; mobility and e-transactional services; and financial processing and software licensing. With millions of daily transactions for hundreds of banks and thousands of merchants, Worldline needed a robust and efficient solution to monitor usage, summarize transactions, and generate statistics on merchant activity.

Worldline is a global financial services company and the European leader in electronic payment services. With 40 years of experience in the business-to-business-to-consumer industries, Worldline’s activities are organized around three main areas: merchant services and terminals; mobility and e-transactional services; and financial processing and software licensing. The company handles millions of daily transactions for hundreds of banks and thousands of merchants. Worldline depends on self-service analytic tools to monitor usage, summarize transactions, and generate statistics on merchant activity. For example, merchants might want to track the success of a promotion or determine the best time of the day to stage a campaign. Statistical analyses from WebFOCUS help them answer basic questions such as what percentage of transactions stem from electronic payments, when those transactions occur, and with what frequency.

Worldline chose Information Builders’ platform due to its attractive licensing terms, exceptional support, and strong end-user analytic capabilities. The IT team established a self-service environment that incorporates portals, dashboards, and guided self-service analytics. Many business domains, including finance, sales, marketing, customer service, and IT, now depend on Information Builders’ analytic software solutions. Worldline’s development team in Morocco used AppStudio to build an interactive application called the Pricer Tool, which empowers sales people to configure custom payment services. Each customer has unique needs. The sales team uses this parameterized app to price unique combinations of services that incorporate various types of credit cards and debit cards, connections to an intranet or extranet, and a broad spectrum of analytical capabilities. Worldline developers also created a quality control dashboard for the Worldline manufacturing department that monitors the development and delivery of point-of-sale terminals. Customer support personnel use this dashboard to track orders and assess service levels.
