The Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA) had been facing issues with their existing video surveillance system. The system was unable to provide clear images for identification purposes during incidents. For instance, during a minor fender bender in the parking lot, the camera, which was only 30 feet away, could not clearly capture the identifying writing on the car that struck the other car. Similarly, during a break-in, the camera, which was three feet away, could not provide a positive ID on the perpetrator. Glasscock County ISD, a school district in Garden City, TX, wanted to enhance the security of its campus.
