Challenge	When Ian Kane, Senior Data Warehouse Architect, joined Wombat Security Technologies, his job was to build a data warehouse from scratch. With the Wombat Security Technologies already on the Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) in MySQL, moving the data to a Postgres database Amazon RDS was a natural choice given that they were already on the Amazon Cloud. Most of the ETL coding would be usable on a standard Postgres RDBMS. Solution	After performing research on the AWS Marketplace, Kane found Qlik and he used the free, 30-day trial to test how data migration would work to the Amazon Cloud. He found that Qlik could move his data continuously with zero downtime. The change data capture (CDC) offered with Qlik worked to move data near real-time for Wombat’s frequent data loading to a Postgres database on Amazon RDS where they were able to move a half billion records quickly and easily.
