Challenge	Evangeline Parish School District, serving approximately 6000 students in 12 schools in rural Louisiana, was faced with the challenge of upgrading its network to support upcoming computer-based Common Core testing requirements. The district’s network infrastructure, including the cabling, was outdated, leading to frequent speed, connectivity, and latency problems with both the wired and wireless networks. Solution	The district turned to Brocade solutions and DETEL Wireless, a Brocade partner and leading provider of technology solutions for the K12 education community in Louisiana. The Brocade team helped Evangeline Parish evaluate its needs and designed a reliable, manageable, and expandable network with a simple architecture. The data center now uses Brocade VDX® 6740 Switches to provide 10 Gbps connectivity to Brocade ICX® 6610 Switches in the network core. Each school uses a Brocade ICX 6610 Switch to provide advanced Layer 3 routing services for 10 Gbps WAN and LAN interconnection while also acting as a 10 Gbps aggregation point for Brocade ICX 6450 Switches at the edge. Brocade Network Advisor simplifies troubleshooting by centralizing management of the entire family of Brocade wired products and Aruba wireless products.
