The customer, a global retailer specializing in mobile phones, was facing significant challenges in their international shipping processes. They were shipping to over 80 countries and were struggling with double effort, mistakes, and lack of leverage in negotiating carrier rates. Their processes were fractured and they were in dire need of high-level integration between their shipping and NetSuite ERP. The customer had minimal tools to organize their high volume shipping, with most of their international movements being organized through emails to freight forwarders. This was cumbersome, caused them to miss lead times, and provided no business intelligence to help them negotiate rates or improve carrier service. They also relied heavily on manual processes in generating required carrier and Customs documentation, leading to double-entry and numerous costly mistakes. Furthermore, a lack of integration between the customer's shipping processes and ERP meant they had no visibility into shipping data across their organization, leading to siloed data and numerous fractured systems.

FreightPOP's Transportation Management System was implemented to meet the customer's needs. It provided control and insight into international shipments, including automated Customs documentation for Automated Export System (AES), Shipper's Letter of Intent (SLI), and Electronic Export Information (EEI). It also offered real-time tracking overviews on all shipments, including multileg, and a currency conversion tool. FreightPOP also provided rate shopping features, including cross mode shipping comparison, access to pre-contracted LTL & FTL carrier networks, consolidated batch shipping tools, real-time acceptance and response to carriers, and 'set and forget' shipping rules. FreightPOP's engineers integrated the customer's warehouse and business systems into their transportation management system, connecting to business tools like ERP, WMS, CRM, inventory/ordering systems, QuickBooks, etc. They also provided customer portals that allowed shippers' customers or divisions of business to access information, such as specific shipping authorizations, order tracking, and shipping history.

The implementation of FreightPOP's Transportation Management System significantly reduced the customer's international shipping roadblocks and improved how they moved products generally. The system's ability to quickly convert currency rates and automate documentation to stay compliant with Customs and international shipping requirements were game-changers for the customer. The system also enabled them to lower shipping costs and reduce the amount of labor spent organizing shipments and rectifying issues. The integration with their NetSuite ERP was particularly instrumental in achieving these improvements.
