Myron’s Cabaret Jazz, a premiere jazz venue in Las Vegas, was faced with the challenge of updating their live sound consoles to support the largest touring acts. The venue, which hosts some of the biggest jazz artists, was struggling with their aging SC48 consoles that were unable to deliver the channel counts needed for larger shows. The SC48s lacked sufficient inputs for the shows and could not load enough plugins due to limited DSP. This resulted in the need for a sub-console and sending stems up to the stage, which was far from ideal. The venue needed a solution that could provide powerful processing, superior sound quality, and tight Pro Tools integration.

The sound quality, clarity, and responsiveness of the S6L systems were standout features that appealed to the venue. The S6L systems also offered a user-friendly experience, with a layout that was easy to use and a flow that allowed quick access to different in-ear mixes.

The upgrade to the Avid VENUE | S6L systems has significantly improved the sound quality at Myron’s Cabaret Jazz. The sound quality is so clear that it is almost jarring, and the image is really close, requiring a gentle touch. The combination of the S6L on the front end going through the new Meyer LINA system has resulted in the best sound the venue has ever had. The venue can now cater to a wide range of performances, from full-blown 20-piece horn bands to quiet jazz, and from thumping rock and roll to an acoustic act the next day. The upgrade has made going to work fun for the staff, with the console providing limitless possibilities for audio production.
The venue can now support up to 61 inputs and 20 stage mixes, eliminating the need for a sub-console.
The S6L systems allow for the loading of more plugins, overcoming the limitations of the SC48s.
The venue can now record however many inputs they have on the stage plus some, with the S6L set to 128.
