The foundation for the intensive care reviewing system is the underlying system PasIva. It is used for the registration of detailed information about each single healthcare action. PasIva exports the data layer that the QlikView analysis application is based upon. Nurses and doctors can then use QlikView to easily follow up the operations and compare with the results from other hospitals. The system is used by 450 people within Region Skåne. Other analysis tools were also evaluated before choosing QlikView as the main tool for analyzing the operations. The possibility to combine tables with graphical elements and the ease with which they can develop the applications themselves are the greatest advantages for them. Region Skåne was able to do updates and further develop the application themselves. Since QlikView is so easy to use for their developers, they have been able to keep the implementation costs at a low level.
