US Foods now has a healthy appetite for Business Process Management (BPM). Using BPM, US Foods has minimized manual processes, gained more process control and greater process visibility. Specifically for its Credit Debit Memo Request (CDMR) approval process, US Foods uses webMethods BPMS to eliminate manual data entry into siloed systems, track refund status and measure results via real-time metrics. With the assistance of Software AG consultants, the solution was live in only three months. The BPM solution works with existing platforms and integrates all relevant systems, including a Tandem mainframe, Oracle® PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and security applications. US Foods can continue to adapt the process by further streamlining or simplifying interactions.

BPM puts US Foods closer to its goal of becoming the easiest company to do business with in the industry through business process excellence. The new CDMR process, in particular, gives US Foods one solution for all divisions with a standard, friendly interface for all users, from sales to financial staff. The company can ensure it meets customer goals and demands by monitoring service level agreements.
