Mitto, a leading provider of global omnichannel communications solutions, faced a significant challenge in ensuring low latency, high availability, and high throughput for its messaging services. The company's customers depend on instantly delivered messages, making it crucial for Mitto to maintain its services without any outages, even during scheduled maintenance. As the company grew, it also had to consider its future scaling needs. Mitto had been using OSS Redis since its inception in 2013, but as the company expanded, it became clear that they needed more support to maintain the high availability and reliability they are known for.

Mitto chose Redis Enterprise to meet its need for commercial support and future scaling. Redis Enterprise is used as a cache in Mitto's tech stack, storing information about the processing of messages, including cached and previously retrieved information about which numbers to use, how to route a message the shortest, fastest-possible way, and how to decide which supplier to use. Redis Enterprise also stores information about the content and senders of messages. The transition from OSS Redis to Redis Enterprise was seamless, with Mitto's developers not even realizing the switch had occurred. Mitto is now considering scaling its Redis Enterprise deployment as it nears the memory capacity of its current shard allocation.
