Operational Impact
The partnership between Ameresco and Hickam Communities resulted in a comprehensive energy conservation project that not only modernized over 2,500 military housing units but also significantly increased energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. The project enhanced the comfort of the military families and personnel residing in these units. The implementation of high-efficiency systems and smart home energy thermostats reduced energy waste and improved the overall energy performance of the homes. The retrofitting of water fixture devices and the installation of a web-enabled smart irrigation control system better controlled water use and wastewater cost. The project is expected to be completed early in 2025, meeting the sustainability and energy objectives of Hickam Communities and the United States Air Force. | |
