Using Netskope for Box, the customer automatically discovered sensitive content residing within their corporate-sanctioned instance of Box. By developing DLP content profiles to match with personally identifiable information (PII) and other confidential data, IT was able to take action on files that were out of compliance and violating policy. They were able to segment content by sharing status (private, shared internally, shared externally), file type, and other parameters, and then take bulk actions on the riskiest files first. For example, they could chose to discontinue access to publicly exposed files, transfer ownership of abandoned files, encrypt files with sensitive content, and quarantine content that shouldn’t be in the cloud. And with the Netskope Active platform, the company can continue to monitor files and take action in real-time. In addition to finding and securing existing content within the corporate Box instance, IT used Netskope to coach users from unsanctioned cloud storage apps. With Netskope’s integrated workflows and real-time policy enforcement, IT was able to display custom coaching messages when users tried to upload content to unsanctioned cloud storage services. Automatic redirects were also built in so that the user could sign up to the corporate instance of Box.
