Kemco Manufacturing, a St. Louis-based company that produces aerospace parts for the military, embarked on a diversification project in 2004 to become a global contract manufacturer for aerospace and other manufacturers. In 2003, the majority of Kemco revenue came from Department of Defense work. However, the pendulum of the aerospace industry was moving to commercial.
