The automated logistics system designed and implemented by Swisslog includes a 23.5-meter high-bay warehouse with 15 pallet stacker cranes, pallet and case conveyors, a palletizing robot from KUKA, linear and loop shuttle car systems, and automated guided vehicles. The cornerstone of the automation concept is Swisslog’s proprietary warehouse management system and controls software. The system passed final acceptance in April 2014 and went through the ramp-up stage after pilot production in November 2013. It is currently operating well, meeting all key performance indicators.
