The county’s hospital sites are essential to the community, providing critical care that constituents rely on daily. Timeliness and reliability of network and application performance are of the utmost importance to provide this county’s community with the healthcare services they need. The IT team was juggling performance monitoring in each hospital site and data center location, multiple cloud and SaaS application vendors, as well as in the DMZ and on both sides of their firewalls and load balancers. Real-time insights into the performance of each of these areas would be highly beneficial to troubleshooting efforts.

NETSCOUT’s nGenius Enterprise Performance Management solutions gave this IT team the visibility to continuously monitor traffic and performance of their network and critical applications. NETSCOUT’s vendor-agnostic solution provided them with packet-level information to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and swiftly pinpoint the true root cause of slowdowns, whether it be traffic bottlenecks at specific applications or disrupted connectivity between their cloud and on-premises infrastructure. Using InfiniStreamNG (ISNG) appliances, Packet Flow Switches (PFS), and the nGeniusONE solution, the team gained visibility in each of these locations: WAN links for each county hospital site and their data centers, monitoring all major links going into and out of their network. The DMZ, cloud, and on-premises components connecting their hybrid infrastructure and powering their missioncritical applications (i.e., Cerner EHR and HL7). VDI technology for secure front-end access to all mission-critical applications. Both sides of their firewalls and load balancers.
