Enterprise Inns, the largest pub company in Britain, faced a challenge with its mobile workforce. The company's core business process tools included CRM, but the desktop version was not user-friendly or fast for field workers. The company initially tried to mobilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM for its 300 field workers using a solution based on Android devices, but this required hiring an offshore software development company to build a mobile app from scratch. The new solution needed to be mature, reliable, and easily customizable for account management and property maintenance use case scenarios.

Enterprise Inns adopted Resco Mobile CRM with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. The operations team uses Mobile CRM to plan their visits at each pub, record their interactions with publicans, and get instant access to all required information. The property maintenance team members, who also visit the pubs, are responsible for the buildings and equipment condition. The solution allowed the company to easily incorporate user feedback into the application. The company also started to provide the app to external users, such as the property maintenance team's subcontractors and drink suppliers.

With the offline mode functionality, the company’s field team can now access the key data and processes even in areas where the Internet connection becomes unstable, or there’s no Internet at all.
Enterprise Inns were able to reduce significantly the number of devices mobile workers are required to carry around with them day-to-day. Instead of lugging a phone, laptop, camera, memory stick and GPS, employees now use only smartphones and tablets.
From an IT perspective, the goal was to keep the maintenance and development with the in-house CRM development team.
