Bloomington Public Schools District 87, serving over 5,600 students in Bloomington, Illinois, was faced with a challenge when Illinois Senate Bill 7 required them to rapidly adjust to the “paradigm shift” of state required staff appraisals. Bloomington Public Schools District 87 is a K-12 education institution that serves over 5,600 students in Bloomington, Illinois. The district comprises 10 schools and employs nearly 700 staff and faculty members. The district was faced with a challenge when a new state law required them to adjust their staff appraisal process. The manual process they had in place was not sufficient to meet the new requirements. They needed a solution that would allow them to complete the evaluation processes electronically, increase collaboration, speed up the process, and ensure data security.

Bloomington began working with ProcessMaker to address the need to have the evaluation processes completed electronically. It took 3 months to design, build, test, and launch the Staff Evaluation process. Today, the process serves nearly 700 staff and faculty, and more than 400 individual instances of the processes are being run monthly. The Staff Evaluation process has been a great success within the district and will continue to be expanded to reflect future legislative requirements. The team has also integrated ProcessMaker with Skyward. Staff Evaluation data is transferred between ProcessMaker and Skyward removing the need for manual data entry.
