Hutson Inc., a John Deere dealership with 13 locations, faced a significant challenge in securing their large display lot and building in Paducah, KY. The outdoor area was particularly difficult to protect due to its size and the fact that customers often wanted to view the equipment after hours without being approached by a salesperson. Sonitrol of Evansville designed a security system for Hutson that combined impact-activated audio on a network-based panel and a video surveillance system from 3xLOGIC. The system was designed to secure the buildings both inside and out, during business hours and after hours. The system was armed with just one keypad, which in turn armed the three combined systems. The solution also included 3xLOGIC cameras installed at all 13 locations, both inside and outdoors, for a total of more than 100 cameras spread throughout all the dealerships. The system also featured video verification alarms triggered in two ways: a yard cord looped through display equipment or motion detection located at fence perimeters.
